Unsettled warm weather

DISTRICT (Special) — The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF) – North Bay District is closely monitoring the weather and developing watershed conditions.

The MNRF states that an area of low pressure is expected to be moving eastward over the next several days, bringing the North Bay District several days of unsettled, warm weather.

Areas across the North Bay MNRF District are likely to see increases to local watercourses from the forecast precipitation and temperatures. Temperatures are likely to remain above seasonal for the next several days.

Stream flows and water levels across the North Bay MNRF District remain elevated from recent precipitation and snowmelt.

Snow remains across much of the area. Local reports indicate the remaining snow pack is saturated and likely to respond quickly to the warmer temperatures forecast over the next four days.

A close watch on updated forecasts, meteorological conditions, as well as river flows and ice-jam prone areas, is recommended.
