Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Temiskaming Shores and Temagami areas.

It said conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts of 90 km/h, large hail up to 2.5 cm in diameter, and heavy rain.

The watch is effective from early this afternoon (June 30) through this evening.
