The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 54 began its 100th anniversary celebrations on July 14 with a parade to the Haileybury Cenotaph, led by the Temiskaming Pipes and Drums band. While at the cenotaph, Branch 54 president Don Martin unearthed a time capsule, with Legion member Dennis McCarty (centre) and Ronald Ouimet present. Ouimet is a lifetime member of Branch 54 who helped to design and create the time capsule to be unveiled during the centennial celebrations of the Haileybury branch. (Staff photo by Sue Nielsen)
