When Marc Fortier was approached in 2017 about supporting the Temiskaming Hospital Foundation, he recalled that a $25,000 commitment seemed “out of reach” for Tri-Town Toyota, which had opened only a few years earlier. But Fortier, the dealership’s owner and general manager, said the community has been “absolutely fantastic.” And a donation of $25,000 – half from the dealership, half from personal donation – “was our way to help” the foundation’s Care Close to Home campaign, he said. “Every single dollar counts,” said hospital CEO Mike Baker. A $25,000 donation is “huge,” he said, “and we couldn’t be happier.” Fortier is pictured above flanked by Baker, at right, and Sue Cavanagh, the former foundation board member who first approached him for support.
