City resident charged with uttering threats

TEMISKAMING SHORES – A 20-year-old from Temiskaming Shores has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm following a report that a threat had been made towards the safety of people at a Niven Street school.

In a news release today (May 23), Temiskaming OPP say the school was placed on lockdown and other schools in the area were alerted and put on hold and secure as a precaution.

Shortly after noon, police said they were investigating a threats occurrence at Timiskaming District Secondary School.

Police then reported they had taken an individual into custody from a residence in New Liskeard.

No one is reported to have been injured.
