HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL
The Girls high school basketball season continues Thursday, October 17: Timiskaming District Secondary School (TDSS) will host Englehart High School (EHS) for games at 2 and 3:30 p.m. Ecole secondaire catholique Ste-Marie will be home to Kirkland Lake District Composite School for games at 1 and 2:30 p.m. On Monday, October 28, Junior Girls South North Eastern Ontario Athletic Association (SNEOAA) tournament will be played at a school yet to be determined. Senior Girls SNEOAA is Tuesday, Oct. 29, at a school yet to be determined.
NEW LISKEARD CUBS
The New Liskeard Cubs of the Great North U18 Triple A League will be at the 19th annual Ottawa Senators U18 AAA Showcase Tournament October 18-20. Their next home game is against the Kapuskasing Flyers on Friday, October 25, at the Don Shepherdson Memorial Arena.
NEW LISKEARD LIONS
The U18 A New Liskeard Lions are in Sault Ste. Marie October 19 and 20 for three games against the Soo Jr. Greyhounds. October 25-27 they’ll be in South Porcupine for a tournament. Their next home games are Saturday, November 2, against the Sudbury Wolves at 12:40 and 6:30 p.m. at The Shep.
CROSS-COUNTRY
High school cross-country athletes will compete in the North Eastern Ontario Athletic Association (NEOAA) Cross-Country Meet Tuesday, October 22, at the Temiskaming Nordic Ski Club in Coleman Township.
GET ACTIVE
The Get Active in Temiskaming run/walk series is back Sunday, October 27. The Halloween-themed event features one-, two-, five- and 10-kilometre distances starting at Temiskaming Shores city hall at 9 a.m. Awards presented for best costumes and there will be fun treats for the kids.

Boys high school volleyball has a tournament scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30, at TDSS featuring Senior teams.

Coming up at the Haileybury Golf Club: fall golf continues, but power carts are not available. The annual general meeting is scheduled for Sunday, November 10, at 1 p.m. in the clubhouse.
