TEMISKAMING SHORES – The STATO trail has not yet fully opened for the 2022 season.

But the trail along Lakeshore Road could open next week.

Recreation director Matt Bahm informed Temiskaming Shores council May 3 that the trail is to be swept clear of winter debris later this week.

Bollards separating the trail from vehicles using the road have been installed along Grant Drive.

The remaining bollards are slated to be put in place on Lakeshore Road at the beginning of next week.

Until the bollards are in place and the trail is open, cyclists are to heed the Highway Traffic Act and ride in the right-hand lane with vehicle traffic.
