Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the Temiskaming area at 4:52 a.m. today (Wed., Nov. 8).

In the Temiskaming Shores and Temagami area, it advises that significant snow will develop overnight and into Thursday.

Total snowfall up to 15 centimetres is expected with this system. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Thursday morning and into the early part of the afternoon.

Snow is expected to taper to isolated flurries Thursday evening.

Environment and Climate Change Canada is closely monitoring the situation and will issue additional messages if required.

In the Englehart and Kirkland Lake areas, snow squalls are expected today with more widespread snowfall developing overnight and into Thursday.

Snow squalls along a cold front are possible beginning this morning.
