QUEBEC (Staff) – A search was underway yesterday (March 14) to locate a missing snowmobiler at the north end of Lake Temiskaming.
A 49-year-old resident of Quebec was last seen on the evening of March 11, said Sergeant Nancy Fournier of the Sûreté du Québec in an email yesterday.
“According to our information, he left alone on a snowmobile on Lake Témiscaming,” she said.
Police are not disclosing the man’s name at this time.
Fournier said a search structure was deployed March 12. To date, the search has involved several Sûreté du Québec snowmobiles and divers.
Temiskaming OPP Sergeant Kyle Perry said officers from the detachment assisted with a search on the weekend from the Ontario side.
