Power outages Sunday, October 25

SOUTH TEMISKAMING (Staff) — Sunday, October 25 will see power outages in the South Temiskaming area.

The main power outage will last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and effect parts of New Liskeard, as well as Haileybury, Bucke Township, Firstbrook Township, Cobalt, Coleman Township, Latchford, Gillies Limit and Lorrain Township.

In addition that day, there will be two five-minute outages affecting New Liskeard, Dymond Township and Bucke Township. One will take place at 9 a.m. and the other will take place at 3:30 p.m.

The longer outage will be due to the installation of new poles along Shepherdson Avenue in New Liskeard and Clover Valley Road, as well as the relocation of some transformers.

The shorter outages are caused by taking something out of service and reinstalling it, said a Hydro One spokesperson.
