A weather system called a microburst, lasting about three minutes, whipped through the Elk Lake Wilderness Resort shortly after 6 p.m. Saturday, July 12. It downed large trees like the one in this photo, narrowly missing the side of the trailer. The good news is that no one was hurt in the incident that left campers shocked and the campground littered with downed trees and debris. (Staff photo by Sue Nielsen)
