DISTRICT – Warm, dry conditions have allowed water levels across the region to slowly subside.
But the Ministry of Natural Resources – North Bay District says water levels and stream flows throughout the upper Ottawa River and Sturgeon River watersheds remain high.
It has extended the flood warning until Tuesday (May 16) for residents of Temiskaming Shores and points south and in the Tilden Lake area.
In an update today (Friday), the ministry said warm days, clear skies and night-time temperatures above zero are expected over the weekend and into early next week.
“Minimal” precipitation could fall on Monday, followed by up to five millimetres of rain on Tuesday.
It urged municipalities and residents, particularly in low-lying areas and along shorelines, to monitor conditions and take appropriate action.
