ENGLEHART — The Englehart and District Agriculture Society is once again presenting the Englehart Fall Fair this year.
The event will take place today Thursday evening, September 8, and throughout the morning and afternoon Friday, September 9.
In 2015 it was uncertain whether the fair would take place this year, but volunteers rallied and the 2016 event is now ready to go.
Area residents are encouraged to come out to attend the event and to provide support so that the long-standing tradition will continue.
This year’s theme is Sweet Green in 2016, which will be reflected in many areas throughout the exhibits.
EXHIBITS
Exhibits and entertainment will be located upstairs at the Englehart and Area Community Arena Complex, and also in the parking lot of the nearby curling club, as well as in the barns beside the curling club where there will be small animals for viewing. Concessions will be located under a tent in the parking lot.
The Howard Family, accompanied by Roy Borgford, will be providing the entertainment Thursday evening. Then on Friday morning, from 11 a.m. until noon, Steve Crosby will be performing. There will also be a Seniors’ Tea at that time.
Traditional tastes of hot chips and cotton candy will be available for fairgoers to enjoy, and upstairs at the community complex the Tomstown Church ladies will be serving up hot food.
There will be games for children, a science experiment to watch, face-paining, a live bee display, and a live fish display from the Hills Lake Fish Hatchery.
On Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. there will be a baby show, and parents are invited to enter their little ones for this fun event.
