As a beekeeper, Cull often has elements of bees, honeycombs and hives in his artwork. This piece, called Proteus, incorporated one of his beehives which had died. He collected the pieces and dipped them in a protective material to incorporate into his work. (Staff photo by Darlene Wroe)
