COBALT (Staff) — The Town of Cobalt is advising residents that the water treatment plant is offline today, Tuesday, September 3, to allow equipment maintenance to take place.
The town is requesting that residents restrict their water usage to preserve water in case of a fire emergency, or some other need which may arise.
The town states that it is “currently undergoing upgrades on the water treatment plant which is expected to be ongoing in September and October. Residents are asked to please reduce their water usage to help conserve during this period of time.”
The town advises that water usage can be reduced by limiting outdoor water usage. The town suggests that those people living at a property with an odd number can restrict their water usage to odd-numbered days, and vice-versa for even-numbered properties.
The town also is asking residents to not water their lawns and gardens overnight.
The town states that it will keep residents informed in the period ahead if there are occasions when the town water treatment plant will be taken offline again for continued upgrades.
