Police seeking info regarding “suspicious male”

TEMISKAMING SHORES (Staff) – Police are appealing to the public to contact them if they have any information regarding a man described as suspicious who was seen near Haileybury Public School.

On March 8, Temiskaming Ontario Provincial Police said they received a call concerning a suspicious male and vehicle.

The man was described as being in his 40s or 50s, bald, with pale skin, and wearing a thin dark coat and dark-coloured gloves.

Police said they were told that, about two weeks earlier, two children were walking home after school when they observed a lone male driving a blue or green Jeep Cherokee or Liberty.

The man was reported to have made obscene gestures towards them.

Police said it was also reported that the same man had been seen on foot in the vicinity of the school. He is said to have followed children for a short distance and attempted to get their attention.

Anyone with information regarding the man is asked to contact the OPP, at 1-888-310-1122.

Calls may also be made anonymously to Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-222-8477, or submitted online at www.tipsubmit.com.
