HAILEYBURY — Haileybury is trimming the tree and everyone is invited to the Cenotaph Park Friday evening, November 17, for its official lighting ceremony.
The Night of Lights event will include many activities, but the light of the tree will be taking place at 7 p.m.
Young and old are invited out. A non-perishable food item will be welcomed to be given to the Haileybury food bank to help out those who are struggling.
Pathfinders will be at the fire station to offer a warming cup of hot chocolate, served free of cost, as are all the other activities throughout the evening.
Following the tree lighting ceremony, at 7:15 p.m. there will be another great treat as Santa Claus himself arrives in the beautiful historic town to greet all the children there. He will be taking the time to say hello to every child and to hand out a special goodie bag.
Following that special memory, people can enjoy a free sleigh ride.
They will also be able to drop in to the Haileybury arena for a free evening of public skating from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Children will also be able to have their faces painted.
Outside there will also be snowshoe races for the kids.
Families, children, and people who just wander into the area to enjoy the sights and sounds of Christmas are all invited to Haileybury Friday evening, November 17.
