NORTH BAY – A flood warning has been issued for the Tilden Lake area.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is advising residents in the area, which includes Gladman, Lyman and Notman townships, that the warning remains in effect until Monday, April 24.
Rain amounts of up to 41 millimetres along with up to three centimetres of snow are forecast to fall over the next six days.
Daytime temperatures will range between 3 degrees C and 10 degrees C with nighttime lows from minus 4 degrees C to 3 degrees C during the same period.
The ministry said last week’s summer-like temperatures combined with snowmelt and recent precipitation have resulted in a sharp rise in water levels and stream flows.
These conditions have led to local areas reaching or exceeding the flood stage. Area residents are being impacted by flooding.
Some roads are impassable and sand bagging has been reported.
