NORTH BAY – Residents in the North Bay District area are being advised to keep a close watch on conditions and exercise caution around rivers and streams.
In its most recent flood outlook, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says warming temperatures could cause local flooding in low-lying areas.
It’s warning residents and visitors to the area of the dangers posed by fast-flowing, cold rivers and streams and unstable ice cover.
Milder temperatures will weaken ice and cause breakup of the remaining cover where it exists, causing localized water level increases and flooding if ice jamming occurs.
