Final Art in the Park August 24

HAILEYBURY (Staff) — New Liskeard native and award-winning musician Jamie Dupuis is set to perform the final Art in the Park event in Haileybury, Wednesday evening, August 24.

The Temiskaming Art Gallery event will also have a great lineup of visual artists and craftspeople, antique cars and kids’ activities, says coordinator Penny Bateman.

The event will be taking place at the scenic Haileybury Harbour Front, and visitors will be able to hear the music of Mr. Dupuis ahead of his release this year of a new album.

Mr. Dupuis is an award-winning Canadian virtuoso guitarist, composer and occasional singer and songwriter, says Ms. Bateman. He is best known for his complex finger-style technique, energetic performances, and the use of percussive effects on the guitar, she added.

Mr. Dupuis performed at an Art in the Park venue last year.

From 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. , visitors will be able to stroll among the displays, and also enjoy a barbecue provided by the Temiskaming Art Gallery and supported by the Scotiabank Haileybury Branch.

Throughout the summer’s Art in the Park events, visitors have numbered over 200 for each of the Wednesday evening venues, according to Ms. Bateman.
