DISTRICT (Staff) – Environment Canada is continuing to provide a Heat Warning for the region as a multi-day event continues with maximum temperatures ranging between 29 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Minimum temperatures are 16 to 18 degrees Celsius.
The Heat Warning is expected to continue at least until Thursday and possibly to Saturday.
Environment Canada states, “Extreme heat affects everyone. The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and people working or exercising outdoors.
“Heat warnings are issue when very high temperatures or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or exhaustion.”
