Hot, hot, hot

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Temiskaming:

The first heat event of the season is expected to hit  portions of Northeastern Ontario on Wednesday.

High temperatures near 30 degrees are to be followed by overnight lows near 19 degrees, meaning little relief from the heat is expected overnight.

The conditions pose a health risk when you are not used to the heat.

Environment Canada warns that everyone is at risk from heat, especially older adults, infants and young children, and people with chronic illnesses

People are advised to drink plenty of cool liquids before feeling thirsty and to keep cool by dressing for the weather.
