Regarding the Earlton Community Centre: In my opinion, what M. Frank G. has said regarding the pronunciation of “Coeur du Village” by “English speakers” being a tongue twister for them is quite a statement. While many English speakers in Temiskaming are Anglophone, it doesn’t mean that they are unilingual. As an Anglophone who has learned to speak French and who takes cultural and linguistic competency very seriously, I feel that even many unilingual Anglophones can at least say “du village”, even if it’s pronounced poorly in French. Je pense que c’est un jugement superficiel et une erreur avec ses stratégies de commercialisation. Or, as some local Francophones may say, “marketing”. Reply
