OPP request the public’s assistance

DISTRICT (Staff-special) — Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint on Sunday, December 22 at approximately 11 p.m.  

Police say, a 17-year-old New Liskeard female was approached by a man operating a red Ford pick-up truck on Whitewood Avenue.  The man asked if she would like a ride, say police.   Police say when she declined he told her to get into the vehicle.  In a release from the police, police say  “She departed the scene and there was no further contact. “

The OPP reminds all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety, and that of children, at all times. Please take time to discuss with your children in detail safety tips regarding the dangers of strangers.  Do not leave your children unattended anywhere, for any length of time, when out in public.
