‘Open Door Studio Tour’ - The Englehart Area Artists are presenting the first free studio tour, featuring, local artist from Charlton - Dack, Englehart, Tomstown, Chamberlain, Evanturel, and Savard Townships. Artists will be displaying their creative work including photography, etching, watercolours, fibre arts, oils and acrylics, as well as collage. This tour will be held on Saturday, September 25 from 10:00 am to 5pm, and on Sunday 26 from 11:00am to 4pm. Brochures with information on the artists and a map are available from local buinessess, municipal offices, and from member of the art Club. Baptismal Preparation course: Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish and St. Patrick Parish will be offering a prepation course for parents who wish to have their child baptized in the Catholic Faith. Become a volunteer Crisis responder. Temiskaming and District Victim Crisis Assistance and Referral Service (VCARS) is currently recruiting volunteers for their upcoming fall training session that will be held the weekend of October 15-17th at the Elk Lake Eco Centre. If you are at least 18 years of age and would like to help victims in your community as a front line responder, now is the time to pick up an application at the OPP Station. The Englehart and District Horticultural Society presents photographer Annette McCarthy Desilets as its speaker at the Wednesday, September 15 meeting.The meeting will be held in Pioneer Hall, Anglican Church on 5th Ave. at 7:30 Ms. Desilets will give hints and information about photographing nature and will also demonstrate how to use the Photo Shop programme. The Englehart area artistS present ‘Something To Say’, a collection of personal statements of creativity expressed through visual arts, exhibited at the Englehart and Area Historical Museum at 67 6th Ave. Englehart.
