Blood donor clinics December 28 and 29

DISTRICT (Staff) – Blood donors are urgently needed, says Canadian Blood Services (CBS).

A New Liskeard Blood Donor Clinic will be open Thursday, December 28, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, December 29, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Riverside Place in New Liskeard.

CBS is calling on eligible donors to help fill 35,000 appointments by January 6 to ensure that Canadian patients continue to have access to the blood and blood products they need over the holidays.

The New Liskeard Blood Donor Clinic has 120 spots to fill.

New and existing donors are welcome and walk-ins will be accepted, says Canadian Blood Services.

“The holiday period always presents challenges for us as we work to ensure we have enough blood and blood products to meet patients’ needs,” Canadian Blood Services stated in a press release.

“We know that you are busy with travel and activities over the holidays, and we
hope that you will make time to save a life and give blood. Patients’ lives depend on you.

“A brief time spent donating blood can give a patient a lifetime of possibilities.”
